OPERATIONAL STATUS: Click and Collect Service

Click and Collect Service

Click and Collect Service

Due to COVID-19 and the need for Social Distancing library users will not be able to browse the library book stacks. Instead from the 7th September we will be operating a "Click and Collect Service", this will enable you to reserve the book(s) your require and then when available collect them from the library when they have been picked. You can also pop into the library to ask for a book to be picked for you.  Books will be issued to you and held for up to 7 days. Should you need any assistance with this please e-mail library.helpdesk@wsc.ac.uk or phone 01284 716216. The below outlines how this will work and above is a video demonstrating how the process works.

Click and Collect Process

  • User to select book from library catalogue by clicking on the "Reserve Button"
  • Staff will run off lists of requested books hourly
  • Staff will collect books from shelves wearing PPE and then issue to the requestor
  • All books will be issued for 3 weeks and if not requested by another user they can then be renewed
  • Once issued, all books will be placed in a paper bag under a number system
  • Staff and students will be e-mailed to inform them when the books will be ready to collect
  • Books requested by students on the HE campus will have them delivered once a day between 12 & 2pm to this campus and there will be a box at main reception for returns

Returns

  • Books to be returned via Self-service only, this is to limit contact with staff and should only go to the counter if there is an issue
  • All returned books will go into quarantine for 72 hours before being returned from the users library record or reissued
  • Fines are currently being reviewed
